Brenda Loves Football!

Brenda is a lifelong Washington Redskins fan! Her love of football came from her father, who was also a sports fan. When Brenda was a little girl, she looked forward to Sunday afternoons, when she and her Dad would sit on the living room floor, watch Redskins football, and eat Ritz crackers and peanut butter. Her Dad loved sharp cheddar cheese, so he would always take out his pocket knife, cut some sharp cheddar and place it on his Ritz crackers. Brenda learned the game of football on those Sunday afternoons. They are some of her fondest memories.

Brenda Loves Boxing!

Brenda also loves boxing! She grew up during the age of Muhammad Ali, Smokin’ Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Sugar Ray Leonard, Tommy “The Hit Man” Hearns, Marvelous Marvin Hagler, and her favorite heavyweight of all times, Iron Mike Tyson. When Buster Douglas knocked out Mike Tyson’s mouthpiece, and Tyson was on his knees looking for his mouthpiece, Brenda fell to her knees too! She couldn’t believe it had come to this! Tyson was not prepared for the fight, and Buster Douglas had just lost his Mom. Tyson’s loss to Douglas was wholly unexpected!

Brenda Likes Basketball!

Brenda was never a big basketball fan, but she has an aunt who is a HUGE basketball fan. Therefore, she has learned more about the game of basketball. She roots for the Washington Wizards because it’s her hometown team. But when it comes to basketball, Brenda roots for individual players more than a particular team. She has always liked Dr J, Magic Johnson, Derrick Rose, and Kevin Durant.

Brenda Likes Tennis!

There is no way to talk about sports without mentioning two of the most dominant women in sports history … Venus and Serena Williams. Venus and Serena have dominated women’s tennis for the past 15 years. They are strong women, physically and mentally. Venus and Serena are role models for girls and women all over the world.

Brenda loves Serena’s arms! She wishes she had the discipline to work out and develop  strong, toned arms like Serena! Brenda also likes the way Serena plays the game. Serena has a “take no prisoners” approach, which Brenda respects. True champions must have the instinct to put away their opponent when they are on the ropes.

Brenda Likes Golf!

Brenda never watched golf before Tiger Woods. Tiger brought lots of new fans to the game of golf. He was a phenom! How exciting to see him march to the 18th hole to put away his opponent. He’d have that red polo shirt on, and he was on the prowl! And when he hit the hole, he’d pump his fist in the air! Brenda and her husband had tickets to the last U.S. Open won by Tiger, in 2008 at Torrey Pines. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to attend due to work demands.
