If you are dieting, a plain salad will be fewer calories, however adding a low fat protein such as lean hamburger or turkey burger will give you a boost of energy! Let’s start with the plain salad recipe:
- Start with iceberg lettuce cut into 1.5 inch cubes
- Cut tomato into quarter-inch cubes
- Cut cucumber into quarter-inch triangles
- Cut green peppers into quarter-inch cubes
- Cut onions into half-inch cubes
Layer iceberg lettuce cubes along the bottom of the container. Add (sprinkle) tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers and onions over the top of the salad. Use your favorite seasoning, such as McCormick Salad Supreme, 11.5-Ounce Unit. To keep it low fat and low calorie, we like Ken’s Lite Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing, 24 Ounce.
